The FTF has fallen for Szabo!! As promised, I will make a very minor alteration to the listing that will possibly unblock the puzzle for some people. This will be posted before midnight 25th July.;)

It didn't help :(

I've built a brute force program for it, and tried it for key words up to 12 characters, it hasn't found anything.

(cries)

Stand by! Another in my continuing cryptography series to be launched any day now........ this one is only a 2 1/2* difficulty so I am expecting the FTF to fall pretty quickly.

Congratulations to Nitroglycerine on the STF for Szabo. A well deserved find after months of work. I only had to point out a small typo error to set him on the right track. Now the question is, how do I improve the hints without reducing it from a 5* rating?..............

Any chance you could change it to a 'suitable for a 5yr old' rating ??? :P

Perhaps not for Szabo, but if you want an easy one, I have a 1.5* difficulty for GC2EJET -Cryptography 1585 Harri Tudur's Girls. - Suitable for all 5 year-olds!

All you have to do for that one is find out who Harri Tudur's girls were, and then google their names + code!
Easy Peasy!

Id say to make Szabo more doable, group the letters as they should be decoded (cant say without giving the key word length away), that really stumped me.

I thought it was about time I put another cache out..... On the system now we have "Aberystwyth Royal Mint". This is a VERY simple Wherigo cache that I have tried out with different iPhones using the download as pocket PC. My apologies to cachers who don't have suitable hardware! Do not expect anything sophisticated. This was put together using Rangerfox Kit and because I only have access to Apple Mac, I was not able to utilise all of the features that a "real" programmer would include such as Items and Characters, but who knows..... if it works for people, I might well upgrade it.

Sounds interesting.. We've done one or two wherigo cahces, but last time I tried one we couldn't get the software to work properly. We'll have to give it another go, but it does all seem a little hit and miss and poorly supported.

We'll try to look into it and try it out over the summer for you.
Al.

It is definitely clunky!!! The secret seems to be if it doesn't respond, then you might need to walk out of a zone and then back in to get it to recognise that you have moved on.
