GSAK Paperless caching with Garmin Nuvi Sat Navs

I got shown how to to this the other day and it really works well.
You need to be a premium member on Geocaching to make pocket queries first then upload them.

Got a second hand reconditioned Palm IIIxe for £10 delivered, apparently you can send GPX files to it and use a free program to view the listings on it. It doesn't have a gps but its handy and can store about 8000 cache listings on a 8mb storage.
Thought for £10 it was worth the risk to give it a go.
Will update if it works.

I bought a palm on ebay for Dan, it works briliantly and saves a lot of hassle in the field.

Only irritating this is it has an IR port, so does my old laptop, the computer detects the Palm tying to connect but the computer keeps getting 'the device actively rejected the file'

anyone have any suggestions?

Personally its much better with a Garmin Nuvi as it alerts you the nearest caches when your driving with a ping, plus you can use it as a gps.

that is quite handy, does it have filters to remove ones you've already found? Or that'd get irritating after a while :-D

You can do pocket queries for caches that you haven't found and then upload them to your Garmin Sat Nav.

ah fair enough, so it doesn't just load every nearby cache, so it does require a pre-load.
